Culture Day

 Today is national holiday, culture day.

So I went to the Niigata prefectural museum of modern art to enjoy exhibition of art that is related to Belgium.



There are many beautiful work such as painting, sculpture, and so on.

I felt they were strongly influened by Impressionism.

There were works by Magritte which I love, and it was a very satisfyig exhibition!



I also enjoyed the permanent exhibit.



I was amazed to see famous Monet painting and Courbet painting.

I'd like to go again!

    I haven't heard the name Magritte. However, these pictures are so beatiful and I'm affected, too.

     Do you know what slime is?  It is a sticky and mysterious toy.  Slime's history is not very long.  It is said that slime was first made and sold by an American toy manufacturer in 1976.  Then, slime, made by mixing laundry glue and borax, was introduced to Japan in 1985 at the International Conference on Science Education and became popular as a science teaching material. Best Sunday Ever

I went to a live viewing of one of my favorite bands, Mrs.GREEN APPLE on Sunday. You may know their songs such as "青と夏", "インフェルノ", "点描の唄". This live named "NOAH no HAKOBUNE". It means ”Noah's ark” in English. Do you know Noah's ark? It is famous story from the Old Testament. Briefly, the story goes like this. One day, God caused a great floods to destroy the people on the earth. This hearing, Noah built a large ark. He or She gathered many animals and told them to get on the ark and survive this world. Then, the ark with Noah and many animals continued to sail trough the sea of the deluge until the storm ceased. The live is inspired by this story.  Therefore, tha band membere were dressed like pirate. Also, the stage looked like a ship.
